Haute Route -
Chamonix to Zermatt

This route links to the two main centres of the Alps and also two classic mountains - Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn .
 
Over the course of the 180 km (122 mile) route we will cross 11 mountain passes, walk in the shadows of 10 of the 12 highest
mountains in the Alps and take in some of the most spectacular scenery in Western Europe .
 
The walk can be completed in 12 days with a more relaxed 15 day itinerary also available. Accomodation options are available throughout the route and can be varied to include top hotels to village inns, gites d'etape, youth hostels and mountain huts.
 
A day or two spent in Zermatt at the end of the walk is highly recommended.
